It's been sooo many years since I had "fresh" MACE. Don't know if the first I had came from India or not. But the flavor is a bit muted to what I remember. I am, however, satisfied with it. And yes, I've cooked sweet and savory with it since I got it. First learned about mace as a kid and my Father would use it in his Tea Cakes. Really thought I was ordering from Grenada but when I saw New York, I thought what a bummer; another tacit misrepresentation. What I always like is "farm to table", which needless to say, Grenada and New York are a world apart.
